Your Lower Lip Muscles Might Determine Veneer Usage
How strong is your lower lip? Chances are you have no idea about this, but top Canadian cosmetic dentists Andrew Charkiw and Armaghan Afsar say that the strength of the muscles in your lower lip will play a major role in how you smile. Different dominant muscles will cause different smile patterns that expose the teeth in different ways during a smile. A good cosmetic dentist will take this into consideration when developing a plan for dental care.
For example, the muscles in the corners of the mouth are strongest in 65 percent of people. People with this pattern do not show their lower teeth when they smile. But the bottom teeth are visible during a smile for the 35 percent of people with lower lip muscles that are as strong as or stronger than the muscles in the corner of the mouth. For these people, items like veneers should be considered for both the top and bottom rows of teeth in order to truly improve their appearance.
